The most underrated MAC lipstick.. ever?

I have got to the stage of my makeup collection obsession where I think I have covered all bases, lipstick wise. I have my safe everyday (MAC Angel), night-out showstopper (MAC Candy Yum Yum) and lipstick that I'm bloody terrified of (MAC Saint Germain). So, instead of planning what lipstick I would buy next, me and my friend decided that we'd just go into MAC and start picking up random lipsticks that caught our eye. That is how I found myself this little beauty...
Her name is Creme De La Femme, and she is the new love of my life.

I was attracted to the lilacy-pink shimmeryness instantly. It is a frost, which other than Angel I own none of. My one gripe with this lipstick? When it is wearing off it does leave a little bit of glitteryness in the middle of your lips, however I think for such a unique colour and pretty finish it is a small price to pay.
The strangest thing about all of this? I have NEVER heard of this lipstick before! It's permanent and all, so it's readily available- I've just never ever heard of anyone mention it in the past few years that I have been obsessed with beauty blogs/youtube.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC42 / MAC Select Moisturecover NC42 /  MAC Studio Careblend  'Medium Plus' / NARS Laguna bronzer / NARS Mata Hari blush / Benefit Creaseless Cream Sippin & Dippin / UD NP Half Baked, Virgin, Buck, Naked (brows) / L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara / Collection 2000 Extreme felt tip liner / Benefit Bad Gal Liner / MAC Creme De La Femme lipstick
Please tell me, have you heard of this lipstick before?
And what do you think of it?

btw... I am not going to be so self indulgent to apologise for my lack of blogging lately. Suffice to say September was a rough month for me but it's all over and I am back! Thank you to all 750 of you for sticking around. Mwah to you all xxxx

Testing.. Testing

MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC41 / Sleek pressed powder 'Biscuit'  / MAC mineralise blush 'Miss Behave' / UDNP 'sidecar' / Maybelline Liner Define / Benefit Bad Gal liner / NARS Laguna bronzer / L'Oreal Telescopic mascara / MAC 'Impassioned' lipstick
So, as promised here is a FOTD with one of the foundation samples I was given at MAC.

What do you think? I thought it looked good today but now whilst writing this up I think I look dreadfully pale, I think this would be too light for an everyday foundation as I had very little false tan today. If you can't remember, click here to see what colour I like to be.

Regardless, for the rest of my makeup I kept it very simple with a wash of UDNP 'Sidecar' over some Benefit creaseless cream in 'Flatter me'. See that liquid liner-line, yay me!

For my lips I dug out an old favourite that doesn't get enough use- MAC's Impassioned!
I find it difficult to apply this and it often bleeds on me, but today I used a lip brush and the product very sparingly and I think it came out quite nicely! I really need to invest in some lipliner though.

What do you think of this foundation? Please let me know :o)

A small step for beauties, One giant leap for Hannah-kind

MAC Studio Fix Fluid NW35 / MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW30 / MAC MSF Medium Dark / UD Naked Palette: Virgin, Buck, Toasted / Maybelline Liner Define / Maybelline 'One by One' mascara/ No7 Lash Adapt mascara / Benefit Bad Gal eyeliner / NARS Mata Hari Blush / NARS Laguna bronzer / MAC 'Improvise' highlight / MAC 'Please Me' lipstick / Barry M 'Toffee' gloss -- Earrings c/o Little Mouse Ears
Anything look different? Anything at all... no? Let's look a little closer..
You may be thinking "seriously, what's new?" but you will see that I have finally mastered(-ish) the liquid eyeliner thing!
I know all of you beauty bloggers will have been doing this since you were in nappies, but it has taken me, (middle name- Clumsy) years to get this right. Many a time I have attempted it, messed up and had to remove all of my eye makeup and start again. Over the past couple years I have tried many methods of application, gel, brush, cream and eventually the winner- PEN!
This Maybelline one is the best out of the couple I have tried, I just think the nib of the pen is thin enough to be almost foolproof, and the constant flow of product doesn't mean I am stopping and starting to reload my brush. Eventually I hope to buy a brush so I can put all of my fluidlines to good use, but until then I am really happy with this product! It's nice and black too, with the added bonus of minimal smudging. You may have noticed that I haven't mastered he 'flick', that is a work in progress!

The second new thing you may have noticed are my brows!
See I was brought up in the family of Blonde Hair + Dark Eyebrows = NO NO. However when I was at Julies make-up course, the girl filled in my brows slightly and I really liked the way it made them look. I found this brow brush that I bought ages ago, and after a sweep of my eyeshadows I settled on Busk from the UD Naked Palette to fill them in, just a little. I love it!
What make up trend did you find hard to grasp?

Peachy

Unless you have been living in a cave all summer, you will be aware of the huge coral trend that is around lately in clothing, accessories and even cosmetics. Luckily, the peachier hues are readily available and much easier to work with than bright orange (Read: Coral).
Today I thought I would hop on the bandwagon and create a daytime peachy fotd!
MAC Studio Fix Fluid NW35 / MAC MSF Natural 'Medium Dark' / MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW30 / UD Naked Palette: 'Virgin' (inner corner & highlight), 'Toasted' (lid) & 'Buck' (crease) / Maybelline 'One by One' mascara / NARS Laguna bronzer / NARS 'Gilda' blush / Benefit '10' highlight / Barry M Gloss 'Coral - 11'

A closeup of my eye make up...
Excuse the random silver lash on my left eye, I can only imagine I have a little lash glue stuck there that the eye shadow has attached itself to! I decided to go for a shimmery wash of colour as my blush is matte. I think it looks nice and summery too! 'Toasted' is a neglected shade in my Naked Palette, I really must use it more.

Now for the peachy ingredients...

NARS 'Gilda has been a neglected blush in my collection. When I got it I thought it was a scary colour, far too peach for me! However when it is applied, it gives the prettiest peachy pink flush.

In comparison to Benefits 'Coralista', you can see that it is much pinkier.

Finally, a closeup of the gloss I used - Barry M's 'Coral' (11). I didn't use a lipstick but as my lips are quite pigmented as it is, it came to quite a nice finish.

How have you been incorporating peach into your make-up?

FOTD using NARS Orgasm blush

I hauled NARS's cult blush 'Orgasm' in my ASOS Groupon collective haul, and since Mr. Postie delivered it it has been used every day.

♡

No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation 'Tan'

Isa Dora Bronzer 'Teracotta Glow' (to contour)

 NARS 'Orgasm' Blush

♡ MAC PaintPot 'Rubenesque'

Benefit Eyeshadow in  'Moody' (highlight) and 'Soft Shoulder' (lid)

♡

L'Oreal

Telescopic Mascara

                    ♡

 Barry M Eyeliner 'Navy Blue'

                    ♡

NARS lipstick
 'Catfight'

                    ♡ Barry M Gloss 'Toffee'

Orgasm blusher is described as a 'peachy pink with shimmer', honestly I have nothing quite like this in my collection. Shimmery blushers never appealed to me as I always thought that it would enlarge my pores and look like I had dunked my head in glitter, as is the case with many cheaper blushers. However, this blush is so finely milled that the golden shimmer is subtle yet effective. The application honestly is foolproof. I would say that this is of better quality than any MAC blusher that I have used. I am a NARS convert!

Have you tried this?
Do you love it?
Love H xoxo

The Face & The Nails - Arts Ball 2011

As I have never posted a night-time/formal look, I thought what better occasion than last nights Ball! In my University, each major department (Law, Science, Engineering etc.) have their own formal ball. Basically, an excuse to get dolled up to the nines and have a good time!
The Face

Rimmel Colour Rush Trio Eyeshadow in Twilight
L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara (Black)
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner (100% Black)
Eyelure Girls Aloud Eye Lashes- Cheryl
Of all, I am very impressed with the lashes. For a formal event I would usually pay upwards of €20 for individual false lashes at a salon. However I chose to pick up these from a drugstore for the bargainous price of £5/€7! I am very impressed by the glossiness of these lashes, they were light and comfortable for the night  I love them!
Sticking to my favourite Barry M products, for lips I used..
Barry M Lip Paint in 153 Pink Ribbon
Barry M Lip Gloss Wand in 5 Bubblegum Pink (Hauled Here)
Other face products used:
No7 Intelligence Balance Mousse Foundation in Tan
MAC powder blush in Fleur Power
MAC Fix +

The Nails
Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Iridescent
If any of you follow me on Twitter (@hannahbanana661), you will have seen my excitement in finally finding this nail polish shade! It would of course be gorgeous over other colours, but for a more neutral look I just applied this over a clear base coat. This wasn't my greatest idea as you can see the yellow tinged discolouration through the polish (my nails are still recovering from the last set of acrylic falsies :o( ). To get this amount of glitter I have applied around 4 or 5 layers, quite impressed by the formulation, only minimal chipping in 4 days! I'm looking forward to experimenting with different base colours. Any recommendations?

Love as always,
H xxxx
